How Photoshop Works

Photoshop’s ability to create new layers can be confusing at first, but it is actually very user friendly, especially when used to combine elements together.

The layers are used to hold different objects on the image, with layers above those objects transparent. Once the various layers are created, you can move objects freely without hiding any parts of the image underneath. The process of creating a new layer is similar to creating a new layer in a paint program.

There are four types of layers in Photoshop: “raster layers,” “composite layers,” “overlay layers,” and “background layers.”

Raster Layers

To start adding and changing an image, you need a layer.

The four types of layers are Raster Layers, Composite Layers, Overlay Layers, and Background Layers. Any object that you add to the image will be a Raster Layer.

Raster Layers

Raster layers are the only non-transparent type of layer that can be edited. It’s kind of like a snapshot of the image before you start editing it. You can add any type of image, text, and most other elements to the layer.

To add an image or text to a Raster Layer, simply drag the image onto the layer. You can reposition the layer by dragging it or cutting a new layer, just like you would do in a paint program.

If you change the size of the image, it will automatically affect all the layers below it. You can also reposition the layer by dragging it, but you cannot edit the background color of the layer.

A layer does not have to be on top of other layers, but the background layer will not be visible while editing.

Composite Layers

The Composite Layers cannot be edited, but it is a good place to put masks and other masks.

To add a mask to a layer, simply drag the mask onto the layer.

If you change the size of the mask, it will automatically affect all the layers below it.

You can also reposition the composite layer using the layer’s bounding box, the box surrounding the shape of the layer.

Sometimes when you resize the composite layer, the bounding box will not be aligned with the layer. There is an option to align it, but if you are moving the layer, the bounding box will change its

Let’s select some features from another image and make them a part of your original image.

1. Open your original image (Steps 1–3).
2. Go to Select>Modify>Contract.
3. Set the Contract value to 15 and click OK.
4. Pick out the features you want to use from the other image and drag them over to your original image.
5. Press Cmd/ Ctrl + Shift + U to open up the Unwrap dialog box.
6. In the dialog box, type **Allow Border** for the _Border_ checkbox and **Create Mirror** for the _Mirror_ checkbox. This will ensure that the selected features are mirrored at their centers. This is a good way to ensure that hair and eyes are placed in the same location in your image. (See below.)

7. Click OK.

What’s New in the Photoshop CS3?

Transesophageal echocardiography in an infant with pulmonary hypertension due to congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
A 3-month-old infant was referred to our institution for evaluation of pulmonary hypertension. Previously, a congenital diaphragmatic hernia had been surgically repaired. During an episode of apnea, he had become cyanotic. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) had demonstrated moderate pulmonary artery hypertension. Transesophageal echocardiography revealed severe pulmonary artery hypertension. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of pulmonary hypertension due to a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, where the involvement of the fetal pulmonary vascular bed in the early neonatal period was demonstrated by transesophageal echocardiography.Q:

How to show unique table entries in a Django view?

I am building a Django web app to record players’ scores. My is as follows:
from django.db import models

class Player(models.Model):
id = models.CharField(max_length=20, primary_key=True)
game = models.ForeignKey(Game)
score = models.FloatField()

def __str__(self):
return ‘{} – {}’.format(,

class Game(models.Model):
id = models.CharField(max_length=20, primary_key=True)
winner = models.CharField(max_length=100)
time = models.TimeField()

def __str__(self):

What I want to do is to list all the games in my Django view, sorted by time. With help from another StackOverflow question, I was able to achieve this. However, in my view, I need to show the information related to only one game, and not the entire table of games. This is because I only care about games with unique ids (different games are not supposed to be played simultaneously).
My current view is as follows:
def game_summary(request):
# Retrieve all the available games.
games =
